Do you lay up treasures? When I first conceived the concept of Coolest Woman on the Planet, I was thinking more along the line of self promotion. I’m rather egotistical that way, at times. And I was having fun with my son. He wanted to learn about Search Engine Optimization, so I showed him what I’d learned.

I started a new FREE blogspot blog and created content for the Coolest Woman on the Planet. We came back about ten days later to check my google standings for Coolest Woman on the Planet. It was #1.

Then along the way, I realized that recognizing women for their accomplishments. Not necessarily for making great strides, but for accomplishments that make others set up and notice is a grand idea. I wanted it to become something fun and effective, as well as entertaining. So, at that point in time, I started promoting the site with winning awards given to ‘other women’ and interviewing women for their accomplishments. Both near and far, I’ve interviewed women as far away as Pakistan and as close as the next room over (my daughter). Their accomplishments may have been small in their eyes, but I see them as high-volume contributors to something we call Quality Life.

Blogspot determined somehow that my blog was a robot and dumped it. So I lost several interviews and a lot of time. But I knew I had a worthy cause. I attempted again to set up a blogspot blog, only to get blocked out of my blog again (this one is still up on blogspot, but I can’t get to it to add anything). So, I waited a bit until I could start a different kind of blog with a dedicated domain. That time has arrived.

A few months ago, I picked up a website and started playing with the kind of site I wanted to build. It had to be easy to add content, simple to market, and fun to share the accomplishments of women, fulfilling its purpose. A wordpress blog fit the bill. Once again, I started building and about ten days later checked and I was on google’s front page. But I wasn’t number one. Someone was before me. Ahem…

I started promoting the interviews and now I’ve added back four wonderful ladies who qualify as The Coolest Woman on the Planet. However, the best news is, I’ve begun to receive messages from folks who are nominating other women. They nominate their Mom, their wife, their secretary, their daughters, their best friends, their cousin the belly dancer, and their favorite friendly pet pig, Miss Piggy. As these interviews come in, they will be posted.

But I wanted to share the values that we believe as Humanity qualify women to be the Coolest Woman on the Planet.

1. Helping others – making it possible for others to accomplish their dreams, either by providing information, promoting family values, or giving something to a group of people that they might not be able to get elsewhere. This one seems to be rather important and trendy.

2. Overcoming – life obstacles, physical limitations, or difficult situations. The fact that a woman rises above victimization to become what she wants to become gives her an edge. We celebrate her accomplishments and fortitude.

3. Gifts of love – there are those women who simply give of themselves to others. These women raise children, love their families, and promote healthy wholesome living. They are many, and their sword is sharp. What they accomplish will continue to build lives that sustain others.

4. Strength – women who stand strong on the two feet God gave them and fight for what is right and just, keeping the faith, and believing that their purpose is worthy of their time and effort. Even when the odds are stacked against them, they continue to grow and stay strong in their conviction.

5. Women of hope – spiritual strength, love, and faith give these women the power to believe that through God who is greater, they can accomplish His goal in their lives. They stand head and shoulders above the crowd carried on the wings of angels to their destination and final reward. These women offer more and keep giving when they’ve nothing left to give, because they are giving God’s love.
